I’ve been working in the childcare industry for well over 10 years now and it’s always been a hustle and bustle up unto this point. Just recently I’ve been able to get away for a week and enjoy life with no worries. I felt like I needed that time to get away and celebrate my own success. As a mentor/coach, business owner, mother and wife I’m always lifting others and sacrificing my time to help others succeed but I know that by taking time away it is vital to renewing your body, mind and spirit plus your business ideas.
I took time to rest by the water and feel the breeze hit my face and the cool water rush over my toes! Being outside in such a gorgeous environment which provides me with a serene peace that made me feel close to God. While resting there, I didn’t have to do any thing but to look up to the sky and out over the water with my heart full of gratefulness. I was so thankful to be able to get away and have time to allow myself time to think.
Why was I so grateful? Truthfully, I’ve never taken a break. If I went out of town I would do it for about 2-3 days but there was always some type of work, meeting or conference involved.
I was able to spend my time pursing basic activity get to moving at a different pace. I took time to bike ride and to swim. You would never know how much fun it was for me to ride a bike and then run right into a cool pool! I felt so refreshed and pumped. It’s been over 18 years since I have ridden a bike!
Once I returned back from swimming, I would then find a great breakfast eatery. The places I went provided me with beach frontage, which meant I was able to enjoy the breeze coming from off the water and eat a bit as well.
My moment of breakthrough for ideas came when I had a private spa day! I enjoyed the opportunity to have a private assistant to provide me with a deep massage and with a European bath! Talk about finding inner peace. That’s exactly what happened. In my time of peace I was thinking about about how I can help childcare owners succeed and I thought about my enrollment building blue print sessions that I plan to offer everyone that has already purchased the kit.
Not only did I think about my IOwnADaycare network but I came up with some awesome strategies for my childcare programs. I knew that summer was going to be starting shortly so I thought of a two for one special! I called while on vacation, got my art work done and sent the information off to be used on my billboard. This would have never happened had I not gotten away to take time to focus on what’s next for me and my business.
Another strategy that popped into my mind was to extend my potty helper brand. I wanted to further solidify my expert status by creating my T-shirt Line and Graduation Certificates for accomplishing their ability to successfully potty train within 30 days.
Talk about a wow moment for me!
All of these ideas came because I got away and listened to my inner man which lead me to my conclusion. But this never would have happened had I stayed too busy to take fast action!
That’s what I want to share with you too!
3 Ways To Help You Focus On What Really Matters
1.TAKE A TIME OUT- Take time for nature walks or time to get closer to nature as to hear water falling and to sit quietly. There are times when I can not come to a conclusion of a matter but taking a break and getting close to nature and running water always brings me to a conclusion.
2. Write Out What Matters- To get to the final conclusion of what you should focus on, write out what matters. Write your list of 5-10 things that’s on your heart concerning your business and pace them out by importance. What’s important to you should get done first and so forth. You’ve got to move from just thinking about it. Thinking about things without taking time to write it down is what causes the lack of action. To really move and take action one must write down what they are thinking and the actions that they intend to take to manifest their thoughts. That’s why I use my Task Manager as a way to plan my intentions and to pen my thoughts. It helps me to stay on task and planning my future actions. Managing my life like a CEO is very important to the success of my childcare business.
3. Take Fast Action On Your Plans- Fast action brings results quicker than anything else. Don’t worry about being perfect just focus in on getting the job done. Perfection will come but only after you’ve taken action on the basic thought. When you’re slothful about your dreams and goals you negate taking action and your childcare dreams just remain as thoughts. You’ve seen it or maybe it’s you, you keep wishing but doubting what you can really do. A false truth is that you’ll need money to do what’s in your heart but the honest truth that I’ve found is that money shows up when you take action. Start with what you have and keep taking action towards pursuing your childcare goals and dreams. In my Task Manager, I created it to enable me to ask myself, “How Can I Make This Happen” I’ve lived in a place in my life where I’ve had to struggle though disappointments and trials so now I’ve learned that nothing can stop a person that’s geared towards achieving their goals. By any means necessary take action on your ideas right-a-way and the blessings you seek will come!
I hope that you’ve noticed that just by me getting away the the normal day to day of childcare that I came back rested and full of ideas that I can see manifesting right now before my very eyes. Let me know of your get away experiences that has caused you to bounce back with loads of ideas!
