The best way for people to find out about you and your childcare business is to for you to extend an invite for them to visit you for lunch with a purpose! Of course those who attend would need to know you and have a relationship with you or the luncheon would need to benefit them somehow.

For me and my childcare business, my husband and I hosted a luncheon to introduce our mentoring and creative arts program to several non profit organizations in the community. We wanted to garner up their participation for our new ideas for the 2015 year.

I believe that the best way to improve community awareness is to take your business to the community.

It’s so important that you realize the importance of getting out of your business at least one time per week for about 3-5 hours that day to network and build relationships with people.

I’ve found out that a majority of people in your childcare community don’t know that you nor your childcare exist. It’s time to bring more awareness of who you and your childcare businesses are and what your childcare business offers.

It’s time to tell people what your dreams are! Just this week while I was on an appointment with my son I started talking to another patient that was in the lobby waiting to be called. I told her about my dreams of owning and operating a childcare business, she literally began to agree with me about everything that I wanted and who she knew that could benefit from my program. My mind was spinning with excitement and after speaking with her, I decided to make a phone call to another “wish list” business connection while sitting there. I called and I set an appointment to go out and tell more people about my business.

Emails, text and calls are great but nothing beats that human interaction. That’s why I host my tour stops so that we can talk to each other live. There’s a greater effect when someone can see and hear your passion in person.

Hear are a few steps:

1.Create a wish list of at least 12 businesses or business people you’d like to partner with for your childcare business.

2. Create a script of what you’d say to them and practice.

3. Make the contact immediately while you’re brave enough to do it.

Talking to people can be fearful therefore use your door of opportunity while your mind is thinking about doing it. You’ll find greater results!
